How does major contemporary Polish playwright Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk use words to create new worlds? How does Polish theatre and film personality Adam Ferency construct reality on stage? To celebrate the World Theatre Day, on 28 March, we will get a closer look at the new worlds created within and by theatre. This will also mark the start of the festival season with Malta Festival Poznań to which we wholeheartedly invite you.
The day’s main event will be a meeting with two Polish theatre personalities: Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk and Adam Ferency, followed by a presentation of an audiovisual recording of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski and starring Adam Ferency. In the evening, How Dare You Alexis, an indie pop group from Poznań, will get us in a musical mood. Prior to that, the terrace of the Arkadia building (which houses the Malta Foundation) will be filled with helium balloons that will provide a backdrop for an urban sound installation. During a workshop, children will be able to symbolically demolish and create a Poznań of their dreams.
Admission to all the World Theatre Day events at the Malta Foundation is free. Free admission passes for the How Dare You Alexis concert are available from CIM.
