We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jan Kulczyk. He was the founder of Kulczyk Holding and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Kulczyk Investments international investment group. As one of the greatest Polish businessmen he contributed to the economic success and the civilisational development of the country.
He was involved in charity and the development of Polish sport.He was a lover and a patron of art. He initiated an unprecedented donation of a private enterprise towards the construction of Museum of the History of the Polish Jews. He supported The Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Grand Theatre in Poznań, International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition, Transatlantyk Festival, Musical Theatre in Poznań, many cultural events, film premiers and exhibitions. He has been supporting Malta Festival annually for 25 years. He has been one of the Founders, co-creators and friends of Malta Foundation.
In 2012 he received the "Patron of Culture" award from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and he has been awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polinia Restituta.
