A table is a meeting place and a place for spinning tales! Agnieszka inherited a white, filigree doily from her grandmother Helena. This was her first snutka, a piece made using an embroidery technique in which the particular patterns are connected with pieces of fine yarn (also called snutkas). Today, in Golina, a village near Jarocin, this type of embroidery is created by a small group of aficionados. The authors of the performance (2014) demonstrated that traditional handicraft can be enhanced by modern form. With the residents of Poznań, they embroidered a symbolic table. Within its structure, they “embroidered” a snutka. The performance piece brought people together in a joint activity, just like snutkas connect the particular pieces of a doily into a whole.
