Too often one thinks of art as something that is inextricably linked with exclusion and withdrawal from life. According to this notion, artists lead lives that may be interesting but not worth emulating. What for most of us apparently seems connected with an inability to fit in, might actually be a way of dealing with life and a decision-making process which is inherent in succumbing to the artistic act.
